To create or not to create, that is the question

Life itself has no meaning, that's the beauty of it. It just is. It's happening, now and forever. We choose our purpose, we create meaning. Life is a blank canvas that is beautiful just the way it is. So how do we show up for ourselves? How do we expand on the best story ever written? We are an extension of life and we have the power to create life. Or destroy life. Life is a choice, it’s the way we live it.

What we create is up to us, the impact we have on Earth is through the choices we make, the things we do. We can do less, preserve and protect, we can do more, share the message of love and joy. We can maintain peace, we can transform abundance. There are no rules but the ones you create, and the ones we enforce together. Life is our playground and we need to thrive together as a matter of survival. A safe, free environment is the game we should all be playing, one filled with love and compassion that is supportive in our growth and nurturing in our pace.

The key to creating more meaning in your life is to do what's right for you. Do what makes you happy. Listen to yourself to find peace. If you can do anything, you can be anything, what do you choose to create?

Honesty is a bitter pill to swallow

This life is limited in the time we have. Our one assurance in life is death. The world we live in deals in time as it’s currency. What that tries to teach us is where time goes. What do you spend your time on? Ask yourself, am I where I want to be? Am I investing my time in the right places? If time isn’t good to you, it’s time to be true. Be honest with yourself about what you want and where you want to go. Be honest with others about what makes life worth living.

Create a life worth living. Not just for yourself, not just for your parents, not just for your child. Create a life worth living for all children to come, for all your family who came before, for all of nature who is living a perfect life. As content as the sun and the moon, as the stars in sky, as the birds singing and butterflies dancing, as the trees breathing and the fishes swimming. The life you create can be as breathtaking as the sunrise and as peaceful as the sunset, it can be as meaningful as the earth rotating around the sun. It can be as simple as a smile to the cashier who serves your groceries and as fulfilling as a 9 to 5 job in offering of your services. The smallest of actions can have a purpose, for the good of others and the good of ourselves. A life worth living, has purpose.

How can I bring more purpose into my life?

Life can be enough when you watch the sky, listen to the wind, feel the ground beneath your feet. Being here to disturb its peace feels like an imperfect plan when we’re all here at once, we make a mess and we're noisy and we're running around confused. Why are we here? Why am I here? What am I supposed to do? I feel like shaking the earth with my questions, shouting to the sky for answers. The trick is to listen to the whispering of unmet needs. It’s important to know when enough is enough, but to also recognise when there is room for more. More love awaits on the path of healing and intention.

If you sit with yourself for long enough you realise that no one has the answers but you. Only you know what you want, what life means to you, and what it could be. Listen to your heart and create a life that sings, that dances, that paints watercolour skies. A life about life. Heal the parts of yourself that never got to meet the light of day. Hug your shadow and celebrate in holy communion by giving thanks that we are here, now, together, in love. More of that please. A life that means life. Live life is sacred celebration.

Choose how to celebrate life. Do what feels right for you until it doesn't, then change. Change for good, change for more. You create it... health and wealth, love and light. To create is an expression of love, from the void of infinite potential to life itself. Creativity is the bridge between the home we come from and the home we build. Creativity is magic manifested, it is the process of intention unfolding into reality. Creativity is the movement of desire, the undoing of hidden dreams. Creativity is the unveiling of the great mystery within us, pulled out of us, splattered onto the blank canvas that is life. Creativity is more than a hobby, it is a basic human need. Need to be something, need to do something, need to create something. Creativity can help us find meaning, only to end up at the beginning. In the pursuit of happiness, we realise that life is just as it should be and that can be enough, when all is said and done. We might as well enjoy the process, be in it for the ride. That’s where the meaning lies... in truth. Yours.

Peace lives in truth

Truth is understanding, finding resonance within the frequencies of love. Truth can be difficult to see, and it’s a lesson we have to learn. Something I would like to open up to more of in my life is peace. Peace of the mind, peace in my heart, at peace with my body. Something that provides access to peace is meditation. When I first started meditating, I was confronted with my ADHD brain and experience of time. Something that is important to remember is that meditation is a practice, we are not trying to be perfect at it. Since I have been committed to sitting with myself, I am more able to let go of ruminations and listen to other parts of myself.

Note: if you would like to know more about a holistic approach to ADHD and our personal insights into neurodivergence we will expand on this in another article.

Meditation teaches me what peace feels like. Peace is a deep sense of knowing, when time does not limit us and we become unbounded. Freedom. Peace sounds contradictory when we’re at the brink of a global mental health crisis and we have war across the borders. So my question is, what is peace and why do people choose war?

That’s quite a lot to unpack here, but one person with a handle on this is Prof. Chris Blattman of the University of Chicago, an economist and political scientist and, last but not least, a peace builder. In his book, ‘Why We Fight: The Roots of War and the Paths to Peace’, he lays out the five main reasons why countries go to war—and why building peace is actually a lot easier than we may think.

Before we can hope to solve world peace, we must create peace within us. The external world is a reflection of the inner and I believe in creating peace from the inside out. I seek peace through personal experience and find peace in my connection to the present moment, at home in being me.

Often, we need to stop to find peace. But peace is also in the roaming. Peace can be found in the process of doing. Peace can be held in the body. Peace is in life, if we nurture it. Peace is in the paintbrush, the brush marks that show us what is deep within us, something we need to take notice of. The paths we draw that speak more than a thousand words, deepening our sense of knowing. The power of Visual Art, the gift of sight. To see, is to believe. Believing in yourself is an artist’s message.

Peace is in the listening of sounds, to nature’s symphony. Listen to the magic we create in the songs we sing and the beats we orchestrate with the tools we make, or the ones we were given. With sound we give and we receive, it deals with matters of the heart. It speaks of separation and unity, our uniqueness and our connection. The power of Music, the gift of resonance. To love, is to hold. In order to express love we wish others to receive, we must connect to the love within. Music speaks of truth, it fills empty spaces for love to grow. A musician guides us towards their message of loving ourselves in many ways and one, unconditionally.

Love in Co-creation

Creativity helps us to connect to ourselves. Creation is connection. We are nature’s creation, so let’s dance in celebration of our beautiful bodies, life’s gift to us! We can use our bodies in many ways, in the everyday choices we make. We can just do things, or we can give it meaning. Move with purpose, dance along the path we co-create with spirit. We each are a gift, we each have a gift, it can be seen in the ones we need to give ourselves first. If we learn how to channel them out of us, we create gifts for others. If we share our gifts with the world, we can help others connect to themselves in order to plant more seeds of love and peace. In return we are grateful in the power of self-belief, because there is enough love to share. Peace is in the life you create, when you choose love.
